I am a visual artist and writer based in the Southeastern U.S. I paint and write from this location in metro Atlanta. visual inspiration comes from southern terrains, the Colorado west, and all eastern coastal areas. I paint contemporary landscapes, figurative, and abstract forms. I am inspired by unforgettable correspondences, found in light, color, and form. These elements begin a visual/spiritual dialogue toward my finished work. Those dialogues don't always stay within an artwork. They also might find their way into stories, poems, and books.
SCAPES: Land-Water-Sky Scapes connect to my perception of a place's infinite spirit. Or, Scapes may reveal what occurs in my own spirit as I observe a particular place at a particular time. I look for an uncanny and magical sense of place in landscapes. I watch for those odd times of day or night in which to capture those things that capture me. I work to express my own experiences of incredible light and spirit--those sacred moments, with which from time-to-time we are blessed.
FIGURATIVE: I look for a sense of the human spirit within my figurative works. My paintings explore our human senses toward new experience. Sometimes jarring, other times transcending. I paint to provide new language for our perceived realities, which we see and experience. Here, we find the junctions of our most real thoughts and feelings.
ABSTRACT: I delight in discovering bridges that link our external and inner worlds. These bridges rely on abstract functions, hinted at in more traditional modes. These bridges are clearer in abstract form.
I pay homage to the spirit and leadership of Mark Rothko in my own visual journey. As for my writing, I love the quiet, sharp humor and excellent stories told by Annie Proulx.
As a visual writer and lyrical artist, I presently am developing these narratives.

"Well positioned in visual art, she has awards in painting, independent filmmaking, and writing in Florida, Georgia, and international competitions. "Roddenberry’s visual approach pushes boundaries of traditional representation. In her work, she uses found and antique objects along with her own studies of landscapes, people and things, uniquely combining elements of comfort and mystery, and providing an evocative balance that invites contemplation. Working in oil, mixed media, and found objects on canvas and hard-based wood panels, her paintings and installations are recognized for their contemporary vitality, color relationships and distinctive surfaces."

I was also represented in several other galleries in Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida, which are now closed due to recessions and pandemic. So, I took a hiatus in 2016-2019 to return to graduate school, where I began developing graphic novels, writing about art, and exploring ways and means to merge my fine art with my writing.
